Many have Martin Luther King, Jr Day off and choose to use the weekend for all inclusive trips or cheap vacations. However an extended weekend is not the true meaning. The day is meant to observe King's accomplishments and contributions to history.
He was a true spokesman for the civil rights movement and taught us we
are all equal which means we deserve to be treated that way as well.
