 These icons are a tribute to the women in American History who may not have made it into the history books. Women who were sisters, daughters, wives, and mothers. Women who cooked, cleaned, sewed, worked in the factories or on the farms, rode in the covered wagons or on a segregated bus, wrote journals, raised children or animals, and did a hundred more things each and every day to make their world a little bit better place.
